How do patients come to us?
Most patients that come to see us have been referred from other patients that are their friends or family. We like this but we also get referral from general practitioners and other specialists.

Why do patients come to see us?

We see patients with potentially serious symptoms or ones that can be due to a wide variety of causes – symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, feeling faint or dizzy.
We see patients with often one or more long-standing health problems e.g. high blood pressure and diabetes, asthma and multiple sclerosis.
We see older patients who maybe have a number of diagnoses over the years and on a number of medications who need to be put on track.
We do also do full medicals for people who want a full assessment of their risk or different diseases and to discuss how they can improve their health. We also do insurance medicals.

Why see us (internal medical specialist) rather than a general practitioner?

General practitioners vary in their interests and experience. A general idea is that they often see younger basically healthy people and deal with the various short- term problems that they might have. Depending on their own experience they will refer a patient as they feel it is needed.
Internal medicine specialists tend to see older patients or patients with one or more serious conditions often conditions that need to be taken into account.
