Thanks, Gary. Unfortunately even if you eat an awful lot of spinach you still don't get X-ray vision, which would come in handy sometimes! Its a pity that few modern cartoon charactures are used to encourage children to eat well rather than used in marketing campaigns to encourage children to eat poorly.
If Spurs keep doing this well, we none of us will get tickets, more Spurs supporters coming out of the woodwork all the time!
Stay well! - I prefer zinc and vitamin D!!

Good read

After eating fresh spinach Dylan needed the lights off to check! he loves being read to and although Popeye is a little strange to him, it was fun and it helped.

Sorry about the Spurs game, next time I will eat more Oranges and get the tickets.

Dear Diane,

On behalf of the Diabetic Support Group (CDSG) I wanted to say thank you for the medical advice and support you are providing to persons and families with diabetes as well as to other specialists in Cayman.

Dr. Helen Hughes, former GP Co-ordinator at CI Health Services audited the incidence of complications in 2000. She reported this as follows: 19% cardiovascular disease; 12% neuropathy; 7% retinopathy; 7% TIA/CVA; 5% peripheral vascular disease; 4% nephropathy; 3% foot ulceration; 1% amputation in a patient population of 355. 72% of these patients were Caymanian/Status and 19% of patients were Jamaican. 72% were female and 18% were male.

Ten years + on, I hope that we can make greater strides in directing resources to address these findings and I hope that patients will seek you out as their primary health provider to help achieve the best control of their diabetes ever!

We are looking forward to your next talk which we will post on our website (www.diabetes.ky) and notify our regulars.

Blessings,
Cousin Christina xo

For all patients, unless they have a particular condition which means that they have or are likely to have a vitamin deficiency e.g. perhaps a bowel disorder that reduces absorption of vitamins or in those situations for which there is good evidence that a vitamin is recommended for a particular condition such as folic acid is in pre-pregnancy or pregnancy then additional vitamins are not required. Most people get enough vitamins from their diet and sunshine. The only vitamin that might be needed for normal "healthy" people is vitamin D if the person keeps most of their body out of the sun most of the time or where they live gets little sun.
I will be putting more information about this subject in the future and check for other posts on the website under the category "vitamins"
